Music of the Natural World

As we watch our planet change, we bring you a concert of music of the natural world.

This performance will feature a new collaboration by composers Tom and Oliver Schneller, and Cornell naturalists, drawing from the Macaulay Library’s catalog of natural sounds. The work focuses on the voices of creatures that are in danger of extinction, or are already lost to us, and will use both acoustic and electronic elements.

Musical tributes to the natural world to be chosen from works by Schumann, Sculthorpe, Sibelius, Biber, and others.
